Hmm I am going to have to go with HELL YES !!!! this game owned, I just wonder how square came together to make such a unique game. I really would love for a third one to game to come out. Like I said before, this was the best Survival Horror game at the time in my opinion. It's still one of my favourites.

Haha I used the gameshark for this game... Damn I really missed out on alot of the fun. Gameshark removes the challenge from the game, and the fun. I am gonna replay it again soon, maybe tommorow.

What'd you need a gameshark for, PE was an easy game. I for one loved this game, even though I haven't played it in a while. I liked hearing about the Mitochondria and all that other scientific mumbo-jumbo. Parasite Eve was was definetly a great game, rarely ever do you get to play a scientific/survival horror/rpg and enjoy it. I can't say the same for PE2 though.

I loved Parasite 2 also lol, They were both fantastic games, and Odd enough Parasite Eve 2 got better reviews then 1 did. I to thought it was an amazing game, and it was fun to learn about Mitochondira... Even if it wasn't real. And it's perfect it was done by square they know how to make there stuff. I also liked how you could run into enemies in real time sort of. So you would walk into an enemy and it would go into battle mode...
But was anyone else a tad freaked out when the dog you gave that boy in the police academy turned into some gigantic scary as hell thing...

First one was amazing. Never played the second but I heard it was more Resident Evil-ish. I heard that the Parasite Eve Rebirth which is supposed to be out this year is a remake of the first one.

Jan 29 2004, 12:33 AM
REALLY!!!!!!!! Theres going to be a new parasite eve game? Fucking own. I also heard they wanted to do a movie of it, and there were already plans early on. I don't know if it will happen but it would be extremely bad ass.

Jan 30 2004, 12:55 AM
Sure, but I need to know where your current location is so I know where to start from. Are you on the Navy Cruiser?
Jade
Jan 30 2004, 04:05 AM
In my first game, yeah. I was on the cruiser. However I hardly had any potions or anything. I haven't loaded that game in awhile.
I started a new game and I just got to the cutscene of Eve in the museum. I'm seemingly doing better so I'll probably use that game instead. I haven't defeated Eve yet though.
So, got any tips for me?

After talking to Admiral Williams save then head outside to the ship's deck. Be prepared to fight 4 battles in a row all of which are Ultimate Beings. You should be atleast at level 33
Ultimate Being 1: You'll want a powerful gun with long range capabilities.
---When the battle starts run away from the U.B. to avoid it's attack, then quickly shoot it twice. Keep your distance from the U.B. for the remainder of the battle and just continue to shoot it twice after every time it attacks. It will do an attack that will take your HP down to 1. Quickly use a Full Recovery. Just stay alive and keep shooting after it attacks and it should go down shortly.
Ultimate Being 2:
---Part 1: Dodge it's lightning ball attack by running around them. Dodge the lightning bolt attack by running under it. Then continue to shoot and avoid it until it switches it's form. Aim for the body
---Part 2: The UB will now split into 2 parts. You now have to avoid both of these parts. When you attack aim for the body because the head will die when the body dies. If you are having trouble use Liberate to kill one of them off. Then pummel the other into submission.
Ultimate Being 3:
---Try to keep your distance from this boss. To dodge it's basic attack run away from it when you aren't attacking it. The UB3 has 2 really powerful attacks. A grab which is nearly unavoidable and causes 400 damage points and an area attack that can be avoided by getting as far away from it as possible. When the UB3 gets into a corner this is the best time to attack. It will release pink balls that can be avoided if you get behind or under the UB3. If you are having trouble use the Rocket Launcher then Liberate.
Ultimate Being 4:
---Don't use the rocket launcher. Cast barrier on your self and shot and avoid the UB4. Later during the battle you'll be able to use Meada's Gun which should take down the boss easily.
Now comes the fun part, NOT!!! You must run away from the UB4 before it catches you otherwise you'll have to fight the whole battle again. Here's where you should go. Memorize this like the back of your hand or you're screwed. j/k pause to read each step while you're playing.
1. Run to the west door
2. Head to the door on the left
3. Go north and turn west at the intersection
4. Run up the hall and take a right through the first door
5. Run down the stairs and through the door
6. Go east, then north at the intersection. Climb down the stairs.
7. Search the control panel, quickly
Hurry hurry hurry!!!!! j/k
8. Head south over the pipes and climb the ladder to the west
9. Head south through the door.
10. Continue south and go through the door on the west wall
11. Run up the stairs and through the door at the top
12. Go down the hall to the west through the exit.
13. Your done!

Ohh god the running part lol. I beat the boss, then I remember all of a sudden I had to run, and I started laughing I thought I was going to make it for sure. Then he catches up and game over.
Jade
Jan 31 2004, 08:16 PM
I made it up to the 3rd form but it killed me. I think I need to level up more, oh and I never got the rocket launcher. I'm so afraid of the running part. I always die at stuff like that. XD

I loved this game. It really lacked replay value, but the first time you play it the story is very enthralling. I was however very dissapointed in the little blue baby thing. That was just kinda a wierd thing to have to shoot.

I gave it reply value by naming Aya my name.
ARGH! I finally beat all the forms of U.B., and as I was running away it caught up to me and killed me... BUT I think I missed the boiler... where is it exactly?

Lol that fucking thing pops out of nowhere. I hate it, it always jumps out and kills you. Ergh it's the hardest part.
Haha, I loved both PE and PE2. It think PE was defintiely better though. So was there ever a definite word on what happened with PE: Rebirth? Are they still making it or not?
I think I'll go get PE and PE2 tomorrow, those games were damn fun

Parasite Eve had a VERY good system, the people just could've moved faster. You could improve your weapons, pump up attacks. I mean whats NOT to like about it? It even had a good story, pretty good imo... It ALSO was the very FIRST psx game I ever got.

i really enjoyed the story of this game
Parasite Eve is the only game in my collection. A fan since day one and I've never lost the love for it. I still play it to this day and though masterfully to a poetic justice, my interest in the biology and antichristianity has kept me an active fan of this title. We should all note the antibiblical symbolism of Eve, the intellectual dialog by Hans, the toppling of Lady Liberty, the exaggerated moon during the fighter jet fmv, and consistent appearance of a certain number 6 moreso than any other, and not to mention that Eve's liberation is on Christmas.
I'm not sure how many Parasite Eve fans indulge in the culture underlying the novel, film, and game, but it is more than just a game you play. It is an existence you endure. Parasite Eve's theme is the subject of ongoing scientific research, philosophical, and religious debate, which can lead directly in to the political realm considering the ever present phrase, 'In God we Trust', on which America bases its every global campaign, stamps upon all its coinage and notes, and dedicates its sole pledge and constitutional ('God' given) rights.
Parasite Eve II was such a spin off that I'd have to disagree with it bearing the same name as the original installment. Techologically, it was superior but in no other way. Still a quality development, just diluted to no end and yielding too little resemblance of the integrity that Parasite Eve had miraculously established. Parasite Eve introduced lifelike modelling to Square's 3D world which has become a staple. Despite what Ergheiz may have helped to accomplish, considering that the story mode's models were lacking heavily in detail, Parasite Eve receives full credit from me personally, and Final Fantasy VIII set the new standard in stone.
Any correlation I see between PE and RE is merely lack of depth on the gamer's behalf. On the surface, shooting mutated creatures is a dime a dozen. Look beneath that, however, to reveal a completely isolated and involving experience. The enemy is different. The foe lies within. A beautifully animated tale of inner struggles, the balance of humanity, and and true to life research makes Parasite Eve a stand alone entity in the gaming universe. Nothing like it previously. Nothing like it since. I dont think it deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence as Resident Evil. Resident Evil induces no emotion. Instead it masks fun with fear. Silent Hill, on the other hand, I can accept. Silent Hill touches human emotion and leads us into catharsis. PE has a similar effect of realization (or acknowledgement) of human roots and a very real, very silent struggle for dominance on the cellular level of existence. RE is merely a shoot 'em up with no substance. The scientific foundation of the Resident Evil series holds no validity what so ever in reality.
If there is, in fact, a third Parasite Eve in development, which I hear of being referred to as 'Rebirth' and is supposedly to be a reiteration of the original game, I certainly hope it retains what makes it such a classic.
I praise the truly unique risk that Square made while developing PE and I'm thankful that it was brought stateside. As far as I know, America is the only nation outside of Japan that it was localized and ported to.

yeah..parasite eve is awesome...more thriller, sexual and etc.

and i voted 1st choice.

Lol I didn't think it was that deep, but it was an exceptional game. I loved Parasite 2 also, it wasn't removed from the original. It just added more onto it. I loved the second game, but I thought the first was better. The battle system was amazing. But I did love the mitochondrial theme ( spelling ? ). And I did think it was very kick aRse because it delved into humanity. I just can't see why so many people disliked it. I thought it was amazing, and at certain times scared the living shit out of me lol. I played it when I was like 9 though xD.
And I agree about Resident Evil, the series is extremely lacking substance. It is just gone to shits now. And they are replacing the zombies with retards that wear burlap sacks on their faces. God thats retarded. It will not be scary at all, But the graphics do look phenomenal. But I agree, the cliche pop out scares annoy me now. And those are the only things that make Resident Evil scary.
Silent Hill currently at the moment is the real winner I think. I hope they come out with some new parasite eve games. I would really love to see that. But I think that the stories in the Silent Hill universe are so superior to the group. Espescially the second game... Dear lord have mercy. And it actually succeeded in scaring you without the cheesy pop up bullshit. Phenomenal game in every aspect. I can't wait to see what else they come up with.
Silent Hill does pwn, indeed. Gives new meaning to the term 'psychological' thriller. No other game leaves its players alone in the dark of their own imagination.

The only thing about the game I didn't like was the fact that it was difficult to turn that was the only bad part about it in my opinion
