A childhood friend of theirs, named Sakura returns from America after six years, looking exactly the same as the day she left the island. Grade: 78%

Pros:
+ It’s funny!
+ Turns into powerful drama
+ Interesting Characters
+ Story wraps up nicely

Cons:
- Retarded Side Episodes
- Slow pacing in the first few episodes
- Did I mention the Side Episodes are…..retarded?

Da Capo is another entrant into the already jam-packed Romantic Comedy genre. Although, Da Capo on the surface seems like any other of the Anime mashed into the genre, it does mange to separate itself with interesting characters and a good drama.

Da Capo starts off like any dating simulation would. Young boy, surrounded by many very attractive girls and these girls all have their little quirks about them. Yes, the series does start off sluggishly introducing all the characters and the episodes are very light-hearted in nature, but Da Capo is very funny. On more than one occasion, I found myself laughing out loud, which even surprised me.

About halfway to the end of the series, the atmosphere of Da Capo changes significantly, it undergoes a transformation from a light-hearted romantic comedy to a powerful drama, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Da Capo also boasts a nice rounded-up ending, which was a pleasant surprise.

Although, Da Capo has one HUGE glaring flaw, the stops it from being one of the best Romance Anime out today. The side episodes that have absolutely nothing to do with the plot, mess up the entire flow of the story. Tacked onto the end of episodes, these side episodes are pointless and a complete waste of time. They are really that intrusive to the Anime as a whole.

Da Capo is a great Anime. Even with one big flaw, Da Capo has managed to be a memorable Anime in my eyes. Go and watch this Anime. Although, a warning to you, skip over the side episodes when you watch this, you’ll be that much happier.

What cought my eye on this review as the name. Da Capo means "from the begining" in Italian, commonly used in music. I haven't heard of this anime, but I will definitley check it out sometime. :)
