Cons:

- No real plot
- In the end, nothing happens

Battle Programmer Shirase is 15-OVA series. It sounded long at first, but the running time of each episode is only 12-minutes and four of those minutes are reserved for the opening and closing theme. I was wondering where an anime would go with such time constraints on itself and I was pleased with what I found.

Battle Programmer Shirase is a comedy first before anything. We get this when in the first twenty minutes when the characters are shown in an awkawrd sexual position. Even if you were too stupid to notice, the anime goes off to slap it in your face even further. With that said, Battle Programmer Shirase has good comedic value.

Battle Programmer Shirase presented a great, up-beat atmosphere. The fantastic opening theme, Suddenly by Naomi Amagata gave a perfect introduction to each of the episodes. The great cast of characters helps this cause. Although, Shirase himself is a little drab, the supporting cast makes up for it with unqiue and eccentric personalities.

The anime is basically broken up into five episodes and each of those five episodes are broken into three smaller parts. All these episodes place Shirase in a new adventure where he must thwart another hacking attempt. That said, that is basically all this anime is about, which shows the real lack of plot in the storyline.

As the OVA drew to a close, there is a realization that nothing really had changed since when the story started. Nothing. With no real conclusion, this anime lost out on a great oppurtunity to score extra points.

Regardless of this fact, Battle Programmer Shirase is a fun and lighthearted anime. If you ever have two hours of free time, then pick this anime up without a second thought.
