Here's one I wrote this morning:

The Road Not Stolen From Frost

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:

I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Neora, I like the painful emotions that are conveyed, but I have to ask. What's with the rhyming scheme? I mean sometimes it does and sometimes it well..doesn't. Not trying to be rude just genuinely wondering.

It would be nice if someone posted something in fanland once in a while. I'm all for a revival haha. Maybe I should post some more of my stuff or something. :x

It would be nice if someone posted something in fanland once in a while. I'm all for a revival haha. Maybe I should post some more of my stuff or something. :x

How's this? It's not the best english, but that's the first one I came up with now:

Protect One Child

Brightly shining on the outside,
But what's inside?
When I go through the crystaly,
Will I see a jewelry?

I go and see, I turn around and watch,
Watch children lying at ragged walls,
See children crying before they go,
Feel children dying in front of me.
Nothin' good is here to see.
Listen to me: Nothin' good to see.

But when I walked, and walked, and ran,
I hit against the door of the crystal.
I opened the door and screamed out loud.
There was an old woman lying,
Freezing up in an ice storm, crying.
Holding a child in her arms, which's dying.

At that moment I didn't fear the storm.
I had to go, go to death, just to protect,
Protect a child.

Oh, man, it's damn short, I noticed now... ^^°

Incidentally, I've been working on a piece called Kubla Khan-do:

In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
A stately pleasure-dome decree:
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran
Through caverns measureless to man
Down to a sunless sea.

So twice five miles of fertile ground
With walls and towers were girdled round:
And there were gardens bright with sinuous rills,

Enfolding sunny spots of greenery.

But oh! that deep romantic chasm which slanted

I like, I could follow the rhythm well enough. The forgiveness is no crime part makes the poem work very well. Nicely done.
