So ive tried to get back into dissidia over the past week and my psp keeps freezing on me when im entering a battle... it happened during shade impulse with squall on chapter 3 part 4... and with zidane and tidus on the same chapter numerous times...
I had to make a backup of my umd just to complete those characters on shade impulse and it still froze on me a couple of times.
THEN...
I wanted to play batman a few days later (last week adn yesterday) and It stalled on me too!. I can't make backups obviously and its really aggravating because im scared it's gonna fry my 500 gb hdd, all my saves and downloads..... Im SOOO close to beating batman, moving onto either the god of war collection and 3 and ffxii and xiii or call of duty 4 and 6 and ff xii and xiii.... BUT batman keeps stalling on me.. I even have an added fan to keep it cool..
could it be an overheating issue? or have other people had stalling issues with batman? and what about my Dissidia doing the same with umd and even the backup?

i'v never had a freezing problem with dissidia even though i downloaded mine. you should try playing it on a friend's console to make sure if the problem is from yours or not.

I did some research yesterday and a lot of people are having this problem with ps3 update from 3.0 to 3.15.... i read that the best work around is to use a vacuum hose to suck out the dust from all the fan holes on the system. A lot of people said their problems have gone or come back RARELY... so ima test this out tonight and see if it works... only problem is my vacuum sucks cause it doesn't suck strongly enough (insert immature joke about sucking strongly)
If that doesn't work, Im gonna have to do an HDD backup, and restore/reformat my ps3.... ONLY problem is backing up the protected content..!! AHHHHH
I hope it fixes itself.
as for the psp issue... I HAVE NOOO IDEA.... need a more stable cfw cause my backups are giving me the same problem.. i dont want a new psp3000+ unless the go drops substantially in price. I CAN try it on my psp1000 though...
i think we should keep this thread going for anyone with freezing issues/known fixes. =)

so i did the vacuum thingy on my ps3 and it worked GREAT.. i also moved it from its spot and it should get a bit more air flow which could have been part of the problem...but i haven't tested batman with it yet..
as for my psp it hasn't stalled on me in the last couple of days.. im gonna get shantoto and gabranth =)

and so my ps3 decided to freeze on me again... i had it moved, cleaned with the vacuum et al, BUT NOOOOO batman seems to be the bane.
I've been getting that white character spine that sticks out for a WHILE, but after i cleaned it went away, no freezes for like 20-30 mins. THEN, I use the zip line, and boom midway through... freeze... and then the white spine kept coming back..froze on me over 5 times..., i even went and shut off friends list notifications and the network to another server thingy function... but no good.
I basically had to run somewhere and save every 2-5 minutes... and it even froze on me RIGHT after saving the last time i gave it a go.... that was yesterday....
and it doesn't freeze for ANYTHING else, but maybe i should try the god of war collection in a heavy fight to see if it'll freeze from overheating.
I dunno anymore, any suggestions?

new question to those in the know...
I've read that there is an optional 3gb data install for Batman.... I am not at home and wont be until later tonight so it gives time for you guys to possibly answer with some help.
If I have the data install already at 3gb and I delete this, will I lose my game save? and If I do not lose my game save and have to reinstall the game data, will this help fix my problems... or should I do a complete backup and format my ps3 and then reinstall... im going crazy trying to find an appropriate answer online.

It also makes little sense to format a system for a problem with ONE game.
