The end of Evangelion was it necessary?

The End of Evangelion was also great though. It gave me all of the crap I expected from the original. Although they did a good job, I still think they should have left it alone, and not done the second.
Because I don't say it. Don't mean I ain't thinkin it.
Next thing you know. They'll take my thoughts away.

Both Evangelion & Gundam are great, two of the three meccas of mecha anime. In fact G-Gundam used some of Evangelion's elements{Pilot/mecha bond}, & such.
Of course it would be interesting if you could put these two in a blender to see what kind of giant-robo emerges from it. With the ferocity of a EVA & the firepower{And armor-upgrade} of a Gundam.

and there are two movies, Death and Rebirth(basically a condensation), and End of Evangelion(a clarification and explanation of what happens in the last two episodes)

Although it was about the most confusing thing I've ever seen, it was actually more enjoyable than the rest of the show. It was actually created to start talk and rumors of what it is about and since I'm typing this right now, I guess it worked. I didn't enjoy it because of its clearity and sensible plot, but the sheer effect it gave was fun. It's a lot like FLCL in the sense that you really don't understand it but it's a hell of a lot of fun to watch. So, just draw your own conclusions on it and feel free to stick to them, no matter what anybody says. There's no definitive answer to what it means.
