Yeah, Kuja tells you a bit about him but in the end it boils down to "it wants to destroy us so we have to kill it" and you don't know too much more than that.

Both good and bad. Life isnt evil but has the capacity for both. Again it's Kuja will that bring Necron. Kuja will to destroy life.

Like i said the crystal as the capacity for both they are life themself but dont seem to have a "will". Which is where Kuja will to destroy life kick in to bring the dark side. It also explain why he vanish because Kuja will changed.

Interesting theory. Can you prove it?

Once the party is teleported Kuja already shown that his will has changed and Necron start to vanish and because without the will to destroy of Kuja he cannot exist.
So it make perfect sense.

Yeah, Kuja's will changes, but I don't see how that in itself is enough to stop Necron. If Necron is directly summoned from Kuja's will to destroy (as he would have to be in order for Kuja's change of heart to banish him), then why doesn't he appear as soon as Kuja reaches the Crystal, rather than when Kuja attacks your party?
(One last thing. The attack that's supposed to come from the bottom left o the screen. I still haven't noticed anything. The closest thing I've seen is the ray of light after Necron begins to glow. You couldn't get a screenshot, could you? It would be most helpful...)
Nice custom title btw. I was kind of wondering what it would be.
EDIT: Bracketed stuff added.

It's not just "Will to destroy". Necron is brought by Kuja will to destroy life.
Why didnt Kuja destroy the crystal right as he got there ? Because destroying the crystal was the last resort. You see that Kuja decide himself to destroy life itself before he cast Ultima.

By life, do you mean any old life (your party), or all life (the Crystal)?
I always thought that Kuja's decision to not immediately destroy the Crystal was down to hesitancy* and a desire to gloat before destroying everything in front of Zidane, so that he would know his inferiority.

If by 'life itself' you mean the Crystal, then you're wrong. Trance Kuja's last words are addressed to the party, and the Ultima spell lands squarely on them.
If not, then you've lost me again.
*and it wouldn't be much of a game if the screen blacked out halfway through Memoria, but I'm keeping the fourth wall out of this.

Necron says so himself.
Necron said:
"Life fears death, but lives only to die."
"It starts with anxiety."
"Anxiety becomes fear."
"Fear leads to anger... anger leads to hate... hate leads to suffering..."
"The only cure for this fear is total destruction."
"Kuja was a victim of his own fear. He concluded he could only save himself by destroying the origin of all things - the crystal."

Hm. I always thought that was referring to Kuja's post-Terra plans, and not just the event which (according to you) called Necron forth.
Well, there's got to be a reason I came to the conclusion that Necron turns up of his own free will and is dismissed by your party's resistance. So I'm going to return to the script and pick it apart until I find my thoughts.
You win this round, but I'll be back...
Edit: Oh wait. One last, insignificant, question. Does Necron even have a name in the Japanese version? You see 'Ein no Yami' on the battle screen, but is this just a description? "Necron" isn't mentioned outside of the battle, so is this something inserted into the English translation?

Well, Kuja was afraid to die. So it easily explain why he wasnt really set to destroy the crystal untill you see him change his mind after the battle.

Well my guess would be very simple eheh. He's the last boss and at first you didnt understand about his origin and all. So the first human reaction is to try to justify his existance so you told yourself the same thing as most ppl. That when the crystal was gone he just came to kill everyone heh. Anyway, that's just a random guess im thinking

Well his name in the Jap version is 'Ein No Yami' which is suposed to mean "eternal darkess."(Not 100% sure)
