A thousand years ago, Saruin was imprisoned. Now the barriers are weakening and his foreboding shadow threatens to envelop the world of Mardias once again. The play must rid the world of Saruin's scourge. Occupying a prominent place in the story, a mysterious minstrel sometimes guides the party to adventure, sometimes shields it from adversity, and occasionally forces grave choices upon the player.
Romancing SaGa is the latest in the legendary RPG series. This installment reclaims the renowned features and boasts all new elements enhancing gameplay and bringing the gamer deep into the story found in Romancing SaGa. As in previous SaGa series, the player can choose from 8 playable characters, each with their own unique story. Depending on which character and action the player chooses, the plot and the subsequent events differentiate dramatically. This free-roaming scenario promises the ultimate in open-ended adventure.
