In some of the random battles you will meet some special enemies, they are called "Friendly Monsters". You will notice that the battle music it not the same as it usually is and that the monster won't attack you. Instead the monster will ask you to give it a item, if you do so then your party will be rewarded with lots of AP and sometimes some items after the battle. If you meet all eight of them then you will be able to pay the ninth friendly monster, the Friendly Yan on Vile Island a visit, this will make it possible to fight Ozma, the most challenging fiend in the entire game. Here's some info that you might find useful while looking for the Friendly Monsters. #01 - Brown Mu: The Brown Mu is located on the plains between the Ice Cavern and Dali. It will ask for 1 Ore and it will reward you with 10 AP and a Potion. #02 - White Ghost: You'll find this friendly monster in the plains around Treno. It will ask for 1 Ore and you will be rewarded with 10 AP and a Hi-Potion. #03 - Color Ladybug: This one is hidden in the forest around the Black Mage Village. It will ask for 2 Ores and you will be rewarded with 20 AP and a bottle of Ether. #04 - Green Yeti: The Green Yeti lives in the bigger forest outside Madain Sari. It will ask for 2 Ores and you'll get 20 AP and a Elixir. #05 - Green Nymph: You'll find the Green Nymph in the forest near the Iifa Tree. It will ask for 3 Ores and you will be rewarded with 30 AP and an Emerald. #06 - Purple Jabberwock: The Purple Jabberwock is located in the forest east for Oeilvert. It will ask for an Emerald and you'll be rewarded with 40 AP and a Moonstone. #07 - Green Feather Circle: This one lives on the Lost Continent. It will ask for a Moonstone and you'll be rewared with 30 AP and a Lapis Lazuli. #08 - Rainbow Garuda: The Rainbow Garuda is located in the East Forest, plateau above Gizamaluke's Grotto. It will ask for a Lapis Lazuli and you will be rewarded with 40 AP and a Diamond. #09 - Friendly Yan: The Friendly Yan lives in the forest on Vile Island, there are not so friendly Yans on that island too so watch out. It will ask you for a Diamond and you will be rewarded with 50 AP and a Rosetta Ring.  Tags: Final Fantasy IX.
