Tidus and Jecht Confirmed; Demo this Summer! |
|
If you're a big (or closet) fan of the upcoming brawler game Dissidia: Final Fantasy for the Sony PSP, you'll be glad to hear that two big names are confirmed. Tidus, the main character of Final Fantasy X, and Jecht, his father, have been announced as playable characters. In recent interviews Tetsuya Nomura has said that he has drawn the characters in a way to reduce the age gaps between them, noting character interactions as a motivation. "This project features characters from different FF games conversing with each other, so I was careful that there wouldn't be a great deal of age difference between all of them," Nomura said in an interview with Famitsu. "I drew Tidus to look younger than he did in FFX to match the design touch of the rest of Dissidia." He goes on to say: "One theme of this project was giving the younger staff a chance to shine. Even if it's not exactly an RPG, I'm glad we were able to give these people who used to be Final Fantasy's target audience a chance to work on a new FF-related project. It's been hard, though! I'm staying fairly hands-off on this project, so even if I have my opinions, I'm leaving it to the rest of the staff." Dissidia is roughly 50% complete. So far a cast of 20 playable characters has been announced but the final tally is rumored to sit at 100. Eager gamers will get a playable demo at this summer's Square Enix DKS3713 event in August. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I hope they give everyone their respected strength's and weaknesses.. that way it's more like a RPG. I also hope they look different then originally, (like Cloud in KH.) Too bad it's limited to the PsP, which I don't own or plan to own.
