Square Enix's blockbuster title Kingdom Hearts has been honored with the Best Story Award at the first annual Glow Awards during an event held at Hollywood's Henry Fonda Theater. Square Enix's collaberation with Disney Interactive had been nominated for a total of nine awards. Representing Square Enix, director and character designer Tetsuya Nomura was at hand to accept the award.
The winners of the Glow Awards were chosen by fans via the official G4 website and EB Games stores participating in the selection process.
Originally released in Japan on March 28th 2002, Kingdom Hearts has sold 3.3 million units worldwide. Square Enix has repeatedly stated its interest in developing the game into a new high-profile series, but so far negotiations with Disney on the matter have not been successfully concluded.
